Bamboo Shoot

The young shoot of a bamboo plant, cut before it becomes woody. Fresh shoots are boiled to take away a natural bitterness. Tinned shoots are already boiled.

How to use it

Slice tinned shoots into stir-fries and curries. Boil fresh shoots thoroughly before using them.

Storage

Refrigerate an opened tin in fresh water, changed daily, and use within a few days.
