Braeburn Apples

A dessert apple of the Braeburn cultivar, a crisp fruit with red striping over a yellow ground. The flesh is dense and holds its shape when cooked.

Origin

Raised in New Zealand in the mid-20th century and now grown in temperate orchards.

Flavour

Sweet-tart, aromatic, and juicy.

How to use it

Eat it raw, or slice it into pies and salads where you want the piece to stay defined.

Storage

Cool, or in the fridge. Apples keep for weeks if they are unbruised.
