Sugar Snap Peas

A pea bred so the whole pod is eaten, pod and peas together, while it is still crisp. It is a cultivar of Pisum sativum with a tender pod wall.

Origin

A 20th-century cross of garden peas and snow peas, now grown in cool seasons worldwide.

Flavour

Sweet, green, and juicy.

How to use it

Trim the ends and eat them raw or barely cooked. A long boil dulls them.

Storage

Refrigerate in a bag and eat them within a few days.
